The Foulfree System for ships, buoys and other surfaces in lake and sea

Instead of using toxic paints the Foulfree System works on basis of copper electrolysis to keep the underwater parts of a boat (or other object) clean: two copper electrodes hang fore and aft at the height of the keel. Once they are energized a cloud of copper ions is given off and envelop the hull. The copper ions are hostile to the organisms that cause fouling but are otherwise safe. As a result the underwater parts of your boat or ship remain clean.

Environmentally-acceptable

Afterwards the copper ions oxidize. Whereas anti-fouling paints are only active during the first few months of heavy leaching, the Foulfree System forms cuprous oxides continuously in controlled amounts. Similarly the action against growth and development of algae, mussels and shellfish is continuous. The remaining copper oxides are water insoluble and not bio-available for fish or other organisms. By using the system the concentration of Cu ² in the water is far below the internationally agreed levels of 0,02 mg/m³ for seawater.

Easy installation and handling

The Foulfree System is only applied when the object is not operated. It is easy to install and handle. The system needs no servicing. However, after approx. 3 years the copper electrodes should be exchanged.

The Foulfree System runs on 12-36 V of direct current or 220 V of alternating current. One can connect it to the normal ship circuit or operate it independently by using a small solar cell.

Excellent results: No more lifting  the boat out of the water, no more strenuous cleansing and no more (toxic) painting. All surfaces under water are protected against fouling with lasting effect. Positive not only to humans, animals, plants and the environment, but, primarily, to your bank balance.
